With all events cancelled last year, Lorenzo and I decided to retake the route of the legendary Grasshopper gravel race on our own. Amazing day out, even if quite eventful: a torn tire, two extra flats, a loose SPD clip, and my watch flying out of my wrist at the worst time.
Day ride to Tioga. Tioga pass is the highest highway pass in California and in the Sierra Nevada. The pass is closed every winter because of high snow. For the first weekend of re-opening, the pass is open to only bikes!
A ride from Paris to Brest, and back. In 90 hours.
Part 1: Rambouillet to Fougères
Part 2: Villaines-la-Juhel to Carhaix
Part 3: Carhaix to Brest, and then to Loudeac
Part 4: Loudeac to Rambouillet
A gravel ride from Reno, NV to Fort Bragg on the California Coast, via remote forest roads.
Day 0-1: to Reno by train, and to Greagle by bike
Day 2: Greagle to Little Grass Valley
Day 3: From the Sierra to the Mendocino range, through the Central Valley
A unusual route down the California coast. From Panoche, in a desert of the central valley, to Santa Barbara, via gravel roads on the interior of the coast. 8 days of incredible riding.
Day 2: Panoche to San Juan Batista
Day 3: Monterey to Mesa del Sol
Day 4: Mesa del Sol to Fort Ligget; Nacimento-Ferguson Road to Cambria
Day 5: Cambria to San Louis Obispo
The first time was good that I had to do it again. 5 days crossing California East to West.
